Comax achieves Great Place to Work status
Ringwood-based business Comax, has been awarded the prestigious Great Place to Work certification, placing it at the forefront of businesses in the UK committed to ensuring their employees genuinely enjoy going to work.
As one of the South’s leading distributors to the hospitality, care and education sectors, Comax provides customers with everything they need to operate efficiently, from catering equipment and cleaning supplies to stylish glassware and tableware.
To deliver outstanding service to its customers, Comax believes it must first create an exceptional workplace for its people. The company invited feedback from more than 80 employees, identifying opportunities to strengthen communication, recognition, and wellbeing across the business. An action plan was then developed to drive meaningful, lasting improvements.
Together with its sister company, London Catering and Hygiene Solutions, Comax set out to achieve the Great Place to Work certification.
The Great Place To Work® is a global certification scheme recognising employers who go above and beyond to create an excellent workplace culture and outstanding employee experience. Businesses ask their employees to provide feedback, thoughts, opinions and ideas on a vast range of areas within the business via an anonymous survey. It is based entirely on what employees say about their experience, ensuring results truly reflect the voice of the workforce.
Greg Prowse, Managing Director of Comax and London CHS said: “After listening to all our teams, the biggest change has been establishing our core set of values and celebrating these each month with our calendar of “Impact Days” and a monthly Impact Award winner.
“The Impact awards are all nominated by all team members throughout the year, culminating in an Awards Ceremony where the leadership team each present awards to the winners in front of the rest of the business, bringing everyone together to celebrate one another’s achievements and the culture we’ve built as a team.
